Three years.
That feels wild to type.
Good Ass Hair Day started as a basement idea. A simple goal: make hair care easier, cleaner, and something you actually feel good about using. No overcomplicating. No unnecessary junk. Just products that fit into real life.
What I didn’t expect? The way this would grow.
Over the last three years, GAHD has gone from packing orders at my kitchen table to sitting on shelves across the country. From explaining what “non-aerosol dry shampoo” even means… to hearing customers walk into stores and ask for it by name.
That still gets me.
But the biggest growth hasn’t just been in sales, new scents, or new retailers.
It’s been in the people.
GAHD is no longer just me in a basement with a dream. It’s a team. It’s retailers who believed in us early. It’s affiliates who hype us up. It’s customers who send feedback, ideas, DMs, and honest reviews. It’s all of you.
We’re evolving, but we’re not drifting.

With busy workdays, time outside, and actually wanting to enjoy summer, I’m not interested in starting from scratch again and again. And honestly, your hair doesn’t need that either. A Little Better Than We Found It

There’s a lot of conversation around sustainability this time of year. And don’t get me wrong, it matters. Awareness matters. Education matters. But at some point, you just have to… do something. So we did. Recently, our team spent a sunny afternoon picking up trash along the Chippewa River trail behind The Eclective on Water Street in Eau Claire. It’s a beautiful spot, but step off the path and you’ll notice the cans, bottles, and plastic cups left behind after busy weekends. What also stuck with me were the people passing by. Almost everyone said thank you. Not in a big, dramatic way. Just a quick “thank you” as they walked past. And it made me realize something simple: People notice. Even small efforts don’t go unseen. At Good Ass Hair Day, we talk a lot about sustainability. Refilling instead of replacing. Using less. Being more intentional about what we’re buying and what we’re throwing away. But this was a reminder that sustainability doesn’t have to be complicated. It can look like: buy a refill pouch instead of buying something new use what you already have or picking up a piece of trash that isn’t yours None of it is groundbreaking.But all of it adds up. We didn’t do anything revolutionary that day. We just showed up, spent an hour outside, and left the trail a little better than we found it. And honestly, that’s enough. Let this be your reminder: it doesn’t have to be perfect to matter. Just start somewhere.
